How we assess brokers
Our methodology.
How a broker ends up on the register, what the risk ratings mean, and where our information comes from.
Why the register exists
Fraudulent trading platforms rebrand and disappear constantly. The register brings thousands of reported and unregulated brokers into one searchable place, each with a plain-English explanation of the red flags — so people can check a name before they invest.
What we look at
A broker may be listed when we find one or more of the following:
- Regulatory status — no valid licence, false or unverifiable regulatory claims, or an official regulator warning.
- Transparency — missing corporate details such as legal entity, registered address, or jurisdiction.
- Withdrawal problems — reports of blocked withdrawals or sudden “fees” and “taxes” before payout.
- Clone indicators — impersonating a legitimate, licensed firm on a look-alike domain.
- Public findings — documented reports and records that point to fraudulent or high-risk behaviour.
How we rate risk
High Risk — reported as a scam or operating unregulated. Elevated — serious red flags identified. Caution — unverified; proceed carefully. Ratings reflect reported concerns, not legal conclusions.
Our sources
We draw on official regulator registers and public warnings, documented reports, and publicly available records. We do not publish fabricated reviews or success stories.
Limitations & corrections
The register is not exhaustive, and an absence of a listing is not an endorsement. If you are a broker who believes a listing is inaccurate, contact us with details and we will review it.
