Why Poia is on the register

Poia claims it is one of Australia’s original Meta Trader 4 Forex brokers and it has been operating since 2008. However, when we checked its domain, we found it was newly created in 2022. So how could it start to offer services in 2008? It is a red flag here. Besides, to be able to operate in Australia or offer financial services to Australians, brokers are required to hold a license in the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC). But we did not find any match results to Poia in ASIC. What’s more, this broker claims it is regulated by the National Futures Association (NFA) with regulation number: 0545549. However, searching in the NFA, we found Poia is not an NFA member. That means Poia is not regulated by any regulators. Investors’ money in this broker is unsafe and cannot be protected by any law. Therefore, it is a scam.

If you have money with this broker

  1. Stop sending funds. Do not pay any further “fees”, “taxes” or “verification” charges to release a withdrawal — this is a common secondary scam.
  2. Preserve evidence. Save transaction IDs, wallet addresses, chat logs, and every screenshot before the account is closed.
  3. Report it. Notify your bank/exchange and your national financial regulator so the activity is on record.
  4. Get guidance. Tell us what happened and we will point you toward the right next step. We are a free public registry — we never charge any fees.
