Why GOBTC is on the register

GOBTC, at gobtc.me, advertises itself in Russian as a crypto exchanger in Budva, Montenegro, buying and selling crypto for cash, swapping roubles and hryvnias, sending money across Europe and even selling property for crypto. Contact is only through a Ukrainian phone number on WhatsApp, Viber and Telegram. It names no licence. Montenegro’s Capital Market Authority warned about it on 8 May 2026. Unlicensed exchangers offer no protection if cash or crypto goes missing. Therefore, GOBTC appears to be a scam.

If you have money with this broker

  1. Stop sending funds. Do not pay any further “fees”, “taxes” or “verification” charges to release a withdrawal — this is a common secondary scam.
  2. Preserve evidence. Save transaction IDs, wallet addresses, chat logs, and every screenshot before the account is closed.
  3. Report it. Notify your bank/exchange and your national financial regulator so the activity is on record.
  4. Get guidance. Tell us what happened and we will point you toward the right next step. We are a free public registry — we never charge any fees.
